Job Posting: Veterinary Technician

We at Veterinary Practice Innovations support a Team of very talented staff across various Clinics in South Western Ontario, including the Burlington area, who truly care about what they do.

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technicians to join our team.

As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Triaging patients and taking their vitals, and acquiring patient history and other information from clients
• Assisting with diagnostic procedures
• Discussing treatment plans and estimates, and payment options with clients.
• Acquiring cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood samples.
• Calculating medication dosages as needed, inserting IV catheters, monitoring anesthesia, & administering IV fluids.
• Administering medication as instructed (oral, IM / IV injections)
• Operating an autoclave
• Processing specimens in our in-house laboratory and submitting specimens to outside laboratories.
• Entering patients’ service charges into the computer database and keeping accurate patient records.
• Explaining patient instructions and medications to clients and sharing educational materials.

Qualifications:

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification in Ontario.
• 2 + years of hands-on experience as an RVT preferred (new grad or 1+ years of experience are welcome to still apply!)
• Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures, anesthesia, dentistry, and laboratory diagnostics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Brant Animal Clinic.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical suites for procedures
• Ensure hospital inventory is careful and accurately managed
• Maintain the facility and equipment
• Manage communications and accurate medical records for each patient
• Provide professional care to animals and their owners

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility preferred
• Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
• Superior customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
