Rules For Hugging Fido

First and foremost, you should never try to hug a strange dog. Hugs are signs of affection, comfort, and love between humans, but they translate into signs of dominance and even aggression in doggy language. Your pet may not mind if you hug him, and he may even enjoy it. However, trying to hug a pooch that looks scared or uneasy is a definite faux paws, and could even get you bit!

Dogs That Don’t Like Hugs

Never force a hug on a dog that doesn’t want one. If Fido doesn’t seem comfortable with hugs, there are other ways you can get his tail going.
