Keeping Your Kitty Fit

Cats are very cute pets. Fluffy is personable, lovable, charismatic, clean, and, of course, highly entertaining. She’s also pretty sleepy! Our feline friends are adorable when they are snoozing. However, your pet’s love of naps does make it easier for her to gain weight. Offer Fluffy some toys that she can play with by herself. Cats all have their own unique tastes, so give your cat a variety, and see what she likes best. Cats love exploring little nooks and crannies. They also really like climbing! We recommend getting your furry buddy a cat tower. This will encourage her to jump and climb. Even spending just a few minutes a day playing with Fluffy will benefit her. Jumping and pouncing can burn quite a few calories! Use a toy that you control, like a laser pointer, a wand toy, or a remote-controlled mouse. This will make things more fun and more challenging for your cat.

Adopting a cat is a lifetime commitment, so you’ll need to think this one over carefully before proceeding. That said, if your kitty is still young and frisky, and you think she would enjoy having a playmate, a second feline may be a good option.

All’s fair in love and war… and, to some extent, cat care! You may need to trick your pet into moving a bit more. Toss a crumpled-up piece of paper down the hall, so Fluffy will chase after it. Or, call your kitty to you from the other end of the house. Offer your furball praise and ear scritches as a reward when she reaches you.
